Cephalopod-o-mania

A few weeks ago or so, I was perusing my favorite knit blogs when I found a pattern for an adorable sea creature (under normal circumstances these things would terrify me). After dropping some not so subtle hints to my better (crafting) half, I ended up with one of my very own:

Bert in Chair

[pictured here peeking out from my knitting bag]

Bert (as I have just now named him) and I have become the best of friends, and I am always rescuing him from improbable situations [see sabertooth tiger attack below]; perhaps someday I will write a childrens book about the two of us.

Bert con Gato

Nowhere to go from there really. Ta-ta for now.

One time I drew a sock and my friend Rose made fun of it and NEVER LET ME LIVE IT DOWN. Now I can’t make, draw or paint anything without screaming “IT DID LOOK LIKE A SOCK” or sometimes pulling compulsively at my socks.

I don’t have the most regular of internet access but I will try to make your craft blog a regular stop of mine…your stuff looks really cool, very Rose-like. There, I am now the kind of person who calls books by Kafka Kafka-esque.

I graduated, moved to Atlanta, and will come back to Austin eventually, definitely for short term visits and maybe even long term someday. I’m happy here but miss friends like you. I would love to hang out again the next time I’m in town.

    Take care, fair Rose!
